How do cats do flying on their own in cargo?

My cat who has led a sheltered life, is being flown in cargo to me next week from Kyrgyzstan to Berlin. Has anyone gone through this with their animals? How do they do? How long does it take to recover? It will take about 2 days. I am so worried....How do cats do flying on their own in cargo?
Cargo holds where pets go, are pressurized and heated. Some food and water in the cage will be a must (if allowed by the airline), and perhaps covering the cage with a blanket (leaving the door uncovered) might be a good idea, since cats like to hide and feel secure in an unfamiliar environment. How do cats do flying on their own in cargo?
Depending on your cats personality he will probably be angry with you for a couple of days but other then that no lasting effects. I would advise not giving him much food or water for the 12 hours before so he doesn't soil his cage.
Drug it. I'm serious. Take to the vet and they can give it something that will calm them and put them in such a state that they will just sleep most of the way.
As far as i was told you'll need to supply the airline's w/vet papers stating he/she is in good condition and they'll need water %26amp; food inside i thinking hanging on the cage door + it'll be hella cold in the cargo area too...I've had our cat inside the cabin and he was ok w/me but was noisy when he traveled w/my boyfriend...Lots of luck w/your animal
some airlines let you put them under you seat in a carrier. that would be better. i would not put him in cargo if i were you.
