My plane i'm going on won't allow me to bring my hamsters with the carry on. Is it safe for them to go with the cargo? Will my hamsters survive in a 45 minute flight with the cargo in an airplane?
As long as the airline know what you are carrying it is safe for them. Live stock are kept in heated holds. Will my hamsters survive in a 45 minute flight with the cargo in an airplane?
Only if his cage is really really secure. My cousin is a baggage handler and he's always warned me never to put anything I consider precious in my bags going into the cargo hold. They do make really solid heavy plastic containers for storage. You could probably rig that up with some holes in the top for ventalation. I'd really recommend not taking the hamster though. Even 45 min in a cargo hold is going to be traumatic.
oh my god...i really...really don't know. they are pretty vicious with luggage. i mean, im sure the people would be extra careful if it was an animal but try to bring it on the plane, they might let you. on my last plane there was a little dog, and he wasn't in a cage or anything. i don't see why hamsters couldn't go on it. put them in a smaller cage and ask if its possible, they can't bite anyone or hurt anyone you know?
i don't think you should take a hamster on any kind of plane. they wouldnt know whats happening and get really scared.
dang ...i dunno i hope so !
I was watching an airline show and this women wanted to take her pet hamster on the airplane back to france or some were from the United kingdom and she wasn't aloud as she got told that the pressure of the flight can kill a hamster and could not let it bord as it was classed as animal crulety. I dont know if this is true as she walks away from the airport and we dont hear about her after. So i dont know if you want to risk it or not but i would consult it with some one that knows more about this because im not so sure. I hope this helps. :)
