Some companies offer shipping of cargo by train. I wanna understand do they own locomotive and rent railroad or they own rilway carriage that they connect to locomotive which owned by railroad and runs on schedule?How train cargo shipping companies work?
They just order a car of whatever type they need.The railroad delivers it,spots it and picks it up when it is loaded and ready for shipment.Some larger company's own their own cars but most just order what they need.
