How much will putting a dog in cargo cost overseas?

I am flying to Europe and am hoping to bring my German Shepherd puppy with me. He will be about 6 months old and I was wondering about how much will it cost to put him in cargo with Continental Airlines???How much will putting a dog in cargo cost overseas?
depending on his weight....and airline tickets for animals are usually more than the passenger, and only one-way. meaning...you'd have to pay twice...one ticket to send him, one to bring him back....

to europe? i'd say over 1,000 dollars...

also check the quarantine regulations...

regulations in the UK are really a pain...How much will putting a dog in cargo cost overseas?
Here's the infomation you need..

According to the Continental website:

Because we share our customers' concern that their pets' flights are stress-free, we have enhanced our animal acceptance policy to transport pets as cargo. Our program is called PetSafe庐. Under this program, Continental does not accept pets as checked baggage.

You'll have to use their pet cargo services.. here's the rates.

from the US to europe.. the rate is $559 each way.

Dependiing on the country.. the pup may need to be quarantined for up to 30 days.

Check the customs regulations for your country of arrival.
I work for another airline and I should know this but I pretty much never had to answer that question because of regulations. You may have to put the pet in quarantine when you get there. It depends on the country and it's rules.

I would either go to Continental's web site and go to baggage and pets should be covered under there. Or call CO.

Are you really sure you want to put a puppy in cargo for such a long trip? Did you ask your vet what he/she thinks??

Ok, I have a phone number for you to call for CO:

Dedicated 24-hour Live Animal Desk (800.575.3335 or 832.235.1541)

Or go to:
