How is the condition of the cargo compartment in an airplane like?

Normally, how's the temperature and the pressure in it?

Is it as same as the passenger compartment or no?

Do they change in different situations?

If I am going to check in a guitar, is it okay for the guitar?

Or is it bad? Why? Can it be avoided or reduced?

Thank you!How is the condition of the cargo compartment in an airplane like?
Musical instruments are considered a special cargo. They won't place together with the other luggages in the normal luggage compartment. You should declare with the check-in counter so they will arrange a place for it. Some airlines even let musical intruments to be carried in the cabin.

There is a part in the cargo area where they can control temperature and pressure too. Like the place where they put live cargo like pets.
