Not a liner, but cover - it's the shade that attaches in the back of the suv to hide your belongings. I've tried autozone, advanced auto, jeep dealerships, everywhere. Any suggestions?Where can I find a 2004 jeep grand cherokee laredo cargo cover?
At any Jeep Store or Any Jeep FactoryWhere can I find a 2004 jeep grand cherokee laredo cargo cover?
If your Auto Parts store can't get you one, call all the scrap yards and junk yards and ask if they might have one or know where you can send to buy one. I have had good luck doing this.

Are those on cargo ships allowed to carry weapons?

Because it would certainly cut down on the amount of pirates if you could just shoot them before they get on board. Are those on cargo ships allowed to carry weapons?
The company below does maritime security for yachts and merchant ships. According to them whether merchant ships can have guns on them or not depens on the flag of the country the ships is sailing under and also the rules of the countrie that the ship is making port of calls to. There are also cases where a ship may have a very volatile or environmentaly dangerous cargo, which would make it a bad idea to get in a gun fight with pirates. In the majority of cases though ships usually are able to out run or out maneuver the pirates or chase them off with fire hoses or other means. Usually you don't hear about this in the new because its not quite as interesting. Are those on cargo ships allowed to carry weapons?
No they are not thanks to the U.N. A good example of if you ban guns , only the criminals will have them. If the crews of these ships were armed, there would be no such things as Pirates.
The crew and the ship's are unarmed. No cannons like the old days. There are some new passive weapons being invented like loud sound generators, and other things.
no they cant carry guns into other countries but im sure they could drop something heavy or just steer into them or cut their climbing rope

What would the cargo be of an explorer sailing to the New World (America) from Europe in 1500s?

What items would like be likely to trade with indians or give to them items for gifts? What would the cargo be of an explorer sailing to the New World (America) from Europe in 1500s?
Well, really the Spanish were in search of gold when they discovered the Americas and it is very probable that they were not intending on trading with the indians and definitely not giving them gifts. Although during the conflict with the Aztecs the Conquistadors offered ';shiny items'; (most likely silver or jewelery to smaller tribes in exchange for their assistance.

Any explorer needs adequate food supplies and protection so they would of course have carried gunpowder, arqubuses (one of the first type of guns), possibly muskets, swords, cattle, sheep, horses for use as cavalry, personal items, foods of very little assortment (mainly salted meats and fish, perhaps some form of fruits or crops, though unlikely), marks (the currency system at that time), wine, maybe seeds to grow, spices and silks. Those are just a few examples of some of the cargo a spanish fleet would have carried during exploration of new lands.

Glad to help. What would the cargo be of an explorer sailing to the New World (America) from Europe in 1500s?

An explorer wouldn't know if there was anyone there to trade with or not, so the trade goods they would take would be very limited. Axes, knives, beads and cloth were the most popular. But his main cargo would consist of food supplies - salted beef, pickled cabbage, flour, and that sort of thing because if he was an explorer, he wouldn't know what provisions or supplies would be available. If he was a trader, then that would mean contact had already been established, and that would be a whole different situiation.
Beads,pots, possibly some clothing,anything made with metal,mirrors,alcohol
My guess would be livestock, cattle, sheep, goats and horses. Goods to trade with the native Americans.
Tools, cloth, beads
Do a google search.

Where can I purchase aluminum skin panels for my cargo trailer?

I need just one piece of skin for the exterior of my utility trailer.I believe it's aluminum and it's white.Where can I purchase aluminum skin panels for my cargo trailer?
Well the easy way is to check out Home Depot or Lowes. Depends on how big a piece you need to repair it. Also in case you know anyone working for an airline they maybe can get a piece of aircraft grade put it on an paint it to match.Where can I purchase aluminum skin panels for my cargo trailer?
F.Y.I. It's not realy easy to replace these pannels.

They are not pre-drilled, and they are not all the same size.

You'll need more tools, and knowledge than monetarily feasable.

Take it to someone who does this for a living.

It will probably cost around $360 to replace one sheet. If the verticals are damaged too, you're looking at around $600.

Is the cargo hold of a passenger plane pressurized?

Are all cargo holds the same, or does it depend on the make/airline of the plane? No guesses please. Is the cargo hold of a passenger plane pressurized?
All cargo holds are not the same...Some are pressurized and some are not. Some aircraft have pressure in the forward baggage hold, but not the back. It depends on the plane you are flying in. As for being able to carry dogs, you are not able to carry dogs in all aircraft. Is the cargo hold of a passenger plane pressurized?
It is pressurized, but the heat is normally only turned on if they are shipping animals.
    Yes,

And also, it is heated. Climbing up to altitude it has to be. Its just a little cold at FL 36,000ft.
yes or they would not ship animals
I don't think the main cargo hold is. But there is a small hold in the front where animals and special cargo goes that is pressurized.

What's the cheapest way to ship heavy cargo? (Time is not a problem)?

I'm relocating to another states, and that means I'll have to move all of my possession, including my collection of books, which literally counts about 1000. They are heavy, so bringing them on the airplane with me is out of the question. I was wondering how I could ship them with the least amount of fee, while still can be sure that they would arrive. It doesn't have to be fast, I don't mind waiting a couple of months until I receive them. By the way, I'm moving from Southern California to Oregon, if that's helpful. What's the cheapest way to ship heavy cargo? (Time is not a problem)?
Shipping them by truck will be best. There are many different levels of truck shipping. Call FedEx, UPS, your local moving companies ( I don't know who works on the west coast, Mayflower, Allied?), and regular trucking companies. You will find a maze of methods and rates. Pack your books in HEAVY (strong) cardboard boxes, or better yet wooden crates. If the packing is not strong enough to withstand being dropped without bursting you may loose some books.

EDIT Many small packages 30 o 40 pounds are OK, but ONE wooden crate handled by a forklift would be better. If you use a pallet with boxes strapped to it, be sure to label and number (1 of 17, 2 of 17, etc) each box (just in case), cover the entire pallet so that handlers cannot easily see that it can be broken down, and MARK it DO NOT BREAK DOWN

What Can I expect working as a Cargo Handler at an Airport?

I am considering working as a Cargo Handler at an Airport.

It states in the Job description that I must be willing to work 24/7 in that I must be available for shift at all hours. Do you work mostly nights as a cargo handler or are the shifts longer than 8 hours in total.

ThanksWhat Can I expect working as a Cargo Handler at an Airport?
IS this for FedEx/UPS or commercial airlines?

FedEx/UPS tend to do a lot overnight commercial airlines will be whenever the planes are scheduled - which varies. You will have to work in all types of weather which can get ugly. I can't speak to the hours, sorry.

Are cargo pants supposed to be sort of baggy?

I always buy cargo pants that are my size, but they are always a little baggy in the legs. Is this the way they should be? I know this is a dumb question, but I am real self concious about what I am wearing. Are cargo pants supposed to be sort of baggy?

  • How old is too old to wear cargo pants and carpenter pants?

I still do, like I did in college, because they're comfortable...but I'm 29.How old is too old to wear cargo pants and carpenter pants?
I'm 56 and I wear them as well. They're comfortable and I like how they look. 29 is still young to be worried that you're too old to dress a certain way. Obviously you wouldn't want to look like a trendy 14 year-old, but cargo pants and carpenter pants are fine. Hell, I don't dress middle-aged and I AM middle-aged!

How much is a 2003 Astro Mini Cargo Van with 149,000 miles worth?

I saw this van at an auction, it's a 2003, Chevy, Astro Mini Cargo Van with 149,000. What is the Blue Book Value? Thought I might find some resources on the internet but was unsuccessful. There body is good, new tires and have not checked the engine yet.How much is a 2003 Astro Mini Cargo Van with 149,000 miles worth?
I looked on kbb.com and guessed at the options it might have. In my zip code it said the retail is 8075. If you are going to buy it from a private person in good condition it estimated 6015 or 6635 for excellent condition. How much is a 2003 Astro Mini Cargo Van with 149,000 miles worth?
I don't know the price, but it doesn't matter any how.

I strongly suggest that, you ignore this vehicle for having lots of mileage on.

You'll end up spending a lot of your cash and time on it in future. This car is badly bitten!

A normal, well kept car suppose to put 15 to 20(the most) thousands miles annually. If you do the math, this car has been over driven.

Please save your self a huge head ache and try to find another vehicle. Good luck!
A Kelley Blue Book is a reference that lists the approximate value of various makes and models of cars and trucks. Check out their website (google kelley blue book) and you'll be able to get a good idea of what your car is worth.
    Go to Kelleybluebook.com
way too many miles for that year leave it ALONE.you will thank me 2 months later.
KBB says $8175. 149,000 is too many miles for a '03. One thing about auctions is you never know what your getting. My suggestion is to check the newspapers or craigslist.com for a private party selling one. Good luck!! :)

Is it illegal to right in the cargo of a pickup in illinois?

I was wondering cus im going to the parade and i have a dodge ram.

please answer in 24 hours thanks. Is it illegal to right in the cargo of a pickup in illinois?
You mean is it illegal to RIDE in the back?

There is no Illinois law prohibiting it. Is it illegal to right in the cargo of a pickup in illinois?
In most jurisdictions is illegal BUT even if there were no law directly forbidding that, ask yourself; Do you have safe seats and seat-belts on the cargo area? If not then you have a problem.

Any cop can stop you and ticket you just for the seat-belts, it doesn't matter where are you riding.

    So it's illegal.

And if there is a minor on the cargo area without a seat-belt, then your problems will be worst.

And in case of accident you can be criminally charged with vehicular manslaughter or criminal negligence for not providing a safe ride to the passengers.
hello there, i hope that this helps. i would check with department of motor vehicles (dmv) for the city in the state that you are considering riding people in the back of your dodge ram because all cities states may not have the same laws. last, to be on the safe side, maybe it is time you re-read the dmv drivers license booklet because laws also change over time. i recently passed my written drivers' test, and i know that they just made some new changes to the manual after the new manual was published for 2007-2009. so it might also be a good idea to go into a dmv office and ask a dmv employee because some new or more recent changes to the laws were not entered into the manual.

    have a good day.
    Yes, its illegal.

But your your in a Parade, shouldn't be.
is legal if ur an immagrant

Were there any pets in the cargo areas of the planes used in the 9/11 hijackings?

Not exactly the greatest priority, but since commercial airliners tend to store passenger's pets in the cargo holds of airplanes, I just wondered if any of the passengers who were on either Flights 11, 175, 77, and/or 93 had any dogs, cats or other animals tagging along with them on their planned trips. Were there any pets in the cargo areas of the planes used in the 9/11 hijackings?
I will have to ask my brother-in-law about Flight 93. He is the Shanksville Fire Chief and first to respond to the crash. While I know alot about it, I don't remember the subject of pets ever coming up.

    3-9-06

Just spoke to my brother-in-law and he said that, to the knowledge of him and the rest of the rescuers, flight 93 did not have any pets on board. Were there any pets in the cargo areas of the planes used in the 9/11 hijackings?
Beside the big hole in the field, where was flight 93????? The pets were in Cleveland darling. Report Abuse

Sorry, Michel B, but NOTHING from Flight 93 ended up in Cleveland. And while they didn't find any pets on that flight, 14cali and taco apparently have evidence to the contrary on the others. Report Abuse

i dont know i hope not that would be really sad
I don't know, but you could probably find out.
I never thought of that! There is always the possibility!
maybe you should check that out and inform us.
Wow, never really thought of that. Of course I understand your point that it isn't a great priority, but something I doubt many people have thought about. I would say that there were undoubtedly a few animals aboard the flights.
i don't know. they never said anything about it. but i believe that there might of been.
    yes.
Thats an awesome question. Thats the first time I've even heard pets mentioned in association with 9/11. I don't have an answer, but would definately like to know.
:( sadly yes more then people lost there lives during 9/11
    nah
Nice of you to think of the animals....the truely innocents of war. Picasso painted ';Guernica'; to show the horror of a village under attack by the Germans and the prominent victim is a horse. Check it out.
Awesome question, but I'd have to agree with the person who said the hijackers were the animals on that flight. Its worth looking into.
no ... the animals were the ones hijacking the aircraft
i believe that there was two on there which was 2 poodles that an elderly woman had on board in the cargo department.
I'm not sure but it is sad to know that these animals might of gotten killed like that and in any war but I hope there wasn't
Thats one question I'm not anwering... duh!!
my friends uncle had his cat momo on the plane

Talking about strictly Air cargo planes what are the weights of all civilian air cargo planes fully loaded?

Both empty and the max amount it can hold. My reasoning is the mayor of Toledo Ohio is purposing to sell the airport. However there is a aircargo hub there and I believe he is only looking at passenger traffic. The charges used to be a dollar a pound to land at the airport I know it has to be more by inflation so I'm just figuring a dollar a lbs one 747 was answerd earlier a dc 10 and about 20 737's and 1 prop job I have know idea what it is but it has a small cargo bin and the packages are tossed off individually no pallet looks similiar to the tin goose but only has 2 prop engines. All help appreciated!Talking about strictly Air cargo planes what are the weights of all civilian air cargo planes fully loaded?
A dollar a pound is a lot... you should recheck your information and put a link to it in the question... The highest landing fees are at New York LaGuardia, charging $5,731 for a 747... that is less than one cent per pound... (if the 747 lands at max takeoff weight, which it cant do... so it is closer to one one-hundredth of a cent per pound...) note that the 747's max takeoff weight is 414 tons... that means that landing at the airport you describe, it would cost almost a million dollars with tax... I dont think so... aiviation could never be profitable there... tickets would have to be equal to the average person's weight (200 lbs.) plus the weight of the airplane and bags and crew and tax... people wouldnt fly... As for the weights you requested,

    747-400 ERF:

    Max Takeoff weight= 414 tons

Empty weight= 164 tonsTalking about strictly Air cargo planes what are the weights of all civilian air cargo planes fully loaded?
Try www.airliners.net and here you can find the info you want as far as T/O weight and MAX weights. Scroll down the page to the Aircraft Data and History and that should help with the weights. And double check the price of landing and take off. The prop job you refer to is probably a Cessna Caravan and it is operated by FEDEX. Good Luck

  • Do you think we should arm cargo ships to protect them from pirates?

Seriously, why not just blow their dumb asses out of the water before they reach the ships? Chum the waters with them.Do you think we should arm cargo ships to protect them from pirates?
Most insurance companies do not allow insured vessels to carry arms and many countries will not allow armed vessels to enter their ports. But this needs to change.

Given the number of hijackings in the Gulf of Aden, merchant ships should be allowed to have armed guards on board to deter pirates, and as many countries are being affected by the piracy plague off Somalia, they should be willing to modify their rules. The U.S. and other naval powers should not be asked to bear the cost of protecting foreign-flagged ships.

Times have changed and the rules must change with them. Merchant ships moving through the Gulf of Aden must be allowed to have armed guards to ward off would-be pirates.

The piracy would cease if the pirates knew that the ships they wanted to seize were armed and very capable of blowing them out of the water. An AK-47 is no match for a machine gun.Do you think we should arm cargo ships to protect them from pirates?
We shouldn't resort to using violence to stop those now intent on ';slaughtering'; American citizens... maybe when they board American ships with guns ablaze the sailors should reason with them or beg them to have mercy on them. I'm sure these Somalia pirates are reasonable people. %26lt;end sarcasm%26gt; Report Abuse

You have to look at both sides of the story. Pirates in Somalia are so poor they can't even afford to feed themselves, so they resort to piracy. Some Somalian pirates actually feel it is their duty to prtoect their waters, as it is here where they find there food, and many commercial fisherman have cleared all the fish from the waters
Good idea. Unfortunately arming ships in those waters is illegal at this time. It's sort of like gun control. You make all the law abiding people give up their firearms so that only the criminals have guns.

And if you ever figure out what sense that makes, give me a call because I sure as H3LL can't.
    Ah, don't you love the American spirit. The way of fighting violence is with more guns. Let's just turn the whole world into a giant military base. After all, look at how successful the military has been in fighting violence and keeping the world peaceful. %26lt;end sarcasm%26gt;
Yes, I agree. Well trained and well armed security should be dispatched to accompany any ship forced to sail trough known pirating waters.

It absolutely baffles me these pirates are still alive.
What do you mean us..Ship security is up to those shipping companies to supply. But yes they do need extra security especially with the increase in piracy in African waters.

What's the distance from the cargo hold to the cabin in a 767-300?

I will soon be living half way around the world, and I intend to take my Golden Retriever with me. I got the idea to stick a wireless cam to the kennel, so I can watch him while flying over the Pacific; perhaps even monitor the temperature and the like, so I can alert the crew should something go awry. I need to know the distance between the cargo hold and the cabin, or more importantly, obstacles that would be in between - walls, latrines, etc. Thanks in advance. What's the distance from the cargo hold to the cabin in a 767-300?
    1. Your wireless camera would not be permitted on board for use in flight.

    2. You would not be permitted to operate the receiving device in the cabin during flight.

    3. There would be nothing the crew could do if something did happen to your dog during the flight.

    4. Transporting a dog in the cargo compartment is a HORRIBLE idea. Please don't do it. It is very likely to do irreparable damage to your Golden Retriever's gentle soul. Flying by airliner is a really, really bad experience for dogs, and you should not subject your beloved four-legged friend to such torture. The dog will not understand what is happening, and will be confused, terrified, and miserable. Just DON'T do it!!!

Also, on the Pacific rim, China, and Southeast Asia, there are numerous countries where dogs are bred and sold for food. They do not understand how westerners like us feel about our pets, and many dogs ';disappear'; from the baggage area before being picked up. You don't want to think about what happened to them.

Please, please DO NOT take your dog to that part of the world. It is a cruel thing to do, even if you can't see that now. If you must relocate to the Far East, find a good home for your pet and say good-bye. It will be by far the more kind thing to do, and the better thing for your dog.

Okay? Your idea with the wireless camera is clever but impractical, and please, please don't do that to your dog. Thank you...What's the distance from the cargo hold to the cabin in a 767-300?
I would say your idea while novel, is not going to ';fly';. Unauthorized electronic equipment in an aircraft is not a wise idea. Exactly what would you have the crew if something did go ';awry';? They have no access to the cargo areas in flight anyway so it would be pointless. In reference to the distance, it would depend on whether it was the forward , aft or bulk cargo area and where you were seated.
Well first off, the cargo compartments are located below the passenger compartment, so the distance could be as short as a few inches depending on where you are seated, BUT...

There are a couple problems with your idea. Wireless transmission of any sort is illegal on board an aircraft. There are very real reasons for this, as there is evidence that unshielded (not designed and installed specifically on THAT PARTICULAR airplane) can cause navigational interference. You'd hate for your 767 to get lost over the Pacific ocean just because you are video taping your dog sleeping wouldn't you? Also, its not particularly light inside there. In fact, its dark. There aren't any lights on during flight because there is no reason to have them. This too: What would you want the crew to do if there was a problem? Are they supposed to do something about it if your dog starts to look like he's not healthy? One cannot exactly access the cargo compartment during flight you know. The cargo compartments and the passenger cabin are sealed off from each other. Are they supposed to divert to Fiji just because your dog is cold? That costs major dollars and you would be liable for that cost.

If its any consolation, on the 767, the temperature and oxygen levels are identical to the passenger cabin because the exact same system that supplies conditioned air to the pax cabin supplies air to the cargo compartment. It is enclosed inside the same pressure vessel, so the pressure is always identical to what it is inside the passenger cabin. So the basic rule goes something like this: If you are alive, so is your dog.
The cargo hold is only inches from the cabin, depending on how you measure it.

However, there's a lot of metal in the structure that can interfere with radio signals, and more importantly, the use of personal electronic devices鈥攅specially those that transmit radio signals鈥攊s normally restricted during all or part of every flight. You'd need the approval of the airline for your plan, and I'm sure they would refuse, since they would have no way of knowing in advance whether or not the signals from your device would interfere with on-board avionics.

Even if something did go awry, what would you do? Without a vet on board, there wouldn't be any useful action to take, and the aircraft isn't going to divert just because a dog on board isn't feeling well (it won't even divert for a sick person, except in certain very limited cases). And there's no place to divert over the Pacific, anyway.

How much would it cost NASA to put an additional 100 pounds of cargo aboard the space shuttle?

I'm sure the cost of lifting every pound into temporary orbit has been calculated. Any ideas? What is total weight at launch...cargo, astronauts, fuel, boosters...all of it? What's the price tag? How much to take an extra 100 pounds? Thanks. How much would it cost NASA to put an additional 100 pounds of cargo aboard the space shuttle?
GAS or GetAway Special Program rates:

    ';The cost of this unique service depends on the size and weight of the experiment. Getaway specials of 200 pounds and 5 cubic feet cost $10,000; 100 pounds and 2.5 cubic feet, $5,000; and 60 pounds and 2.5 cubic feet, $3,000. The weight of the GAS container, experiment mounting plate and its attachment screws, and all hardware regularly supplied by NASA is not charged to the experimenter's weight allowance.';

These are 1976 prices. YMMV.How much would it cost NASA to put an additional 100 pounds of cargo aboard the space shuttle?
    More than your allowance.

Aaaaaaaaaaanything. I literally am wearing black cargo's now and I just have on an emerald green t-shirt and silver flip-flops. They're the most practical pants and I find anything goes with them from singlet tops, to t-shirts, to sweatshirts and even a fitted checkered shirt.
def a v neck. what ever you do make it something that pops. make it stand out from the pants. good luck...hope i helped
you can get a vneck shirt and get a long sleeved one thatis black and i would wear white and black flip flops or black and white flowers. something abit different but same colors.
put a bright colored tank over a white t-shirt or a solid (perferably dark green) tank over a patterned long sleeve. flip-flops r cute.
A neon shirt with puffy sleeves, like Fabio would wear. It should also have a picture of a wonderful fairy sumo on the front. (I also suggest some polka dots)

What are traffic movements around the cargo areas in airports like?

I would ideally like to get some data on trip generation in and out of the cargo zones of airports. Thank you. What are traffic movements around the cargo areas in airports like?
inbound and outbound airfreight is sceduled by manifests that announce inbound freight and are only accessible to registered carriers. the carrier is notified to pick up freight designated to his company. I can not tell you much more. this is a matter of security. but, freight is assighned to secure carriers who show up to pick it up usually,on a repetitive basis. outbound airfreight is pre-booked on fleights and loaded into properly shaped containers that will fit in the cargo area of a plane. only boned freight brokers are allowed to scedule freight, inbbound or outbound. your question could lead you to be investigatedWhat are traffic movements around the cargo areas in airports like?
It's best called organized chaos with a lot of security. You'll need to have a greater need to know than just plain curiosity. ';Cat';, go find something else to be curious about. That subject could use up all of your 9 lives and have a deficit to pay as well.

Could the space shuttle fly to the moon if 80% of the cargo bay was used for extra fuel?

And if there were 8 booster rockets instead of just 2.Could the space shuttle fly to the moon if 80% of the cargo bay was used for extra fuel?
I'm sure it could, but getting back.......... and having the food.Could the space shuttle fly to the moon if 80% of the cargo bay was used for extra fuel?
I don't think even that would be necessary except for fuel for the return trip. Altering the trajectory from orbital to deep space could allow the shuttle to ';coast'; to the Moon like the Apollo missions. There would have to be a runway with a ramp for it to take off from the Moon though.
From what I have learned from the M.I.T. lecture series about Space Shuttle development extra boosters were never considered. The dynamics of what amounts to a hypersonic vehicle achieving low Earth orbit while attached to and thrusting through the external tank was understood only through thousands of hours of wind tunnel tests. To use it in any way for a Moon flight would also involve lunar orbit insertion fuel if the vehicle was to achieve orbit and then Earth return fuel. Then when it got back to Earth it was not designed for the 25,000.00 mph reentry speed that vehicle returning from the Moon have to be achieved. Nothings impossible but the Shuttle was really on designed for low Earth orbit.

    .

    .
The shuttle is capable of acheiving a stable orbit, therefore

it could leave earth. However with the limited quantity of fuel

available the trip would be very slow and supplies would

probably run out.stopping at the moon instead of a flyby would also use even more fuel.A better design would be as

light as possible to optimise speed in transit.
    Your questions is flawed.

yes it could go from earth to the moon with no problem.

Hell i can throw a stone to the moon.

basically, once you break the force of gravity from earth it will take very little effort to reach the moon. However, getting back, etc etc. will be another problem
That's not an easy question to answer. The shuttle wouldn't make a good moon lander, and what you propose would cost far more money than the orion module they are going to send.
No. Conceivaly you could get enough fuel on board tha tway to reach escape velocity. But not to reach the moon--there would not be enough fuel to land--or even enter lunar orbit.

That's based simply on the available volume in the payload bay. In practice, the design modifications would be impossible--and you would have to bable to restart the Shuttle main engines in flight, which they are very definately NOT designed to do--they would probably explode.
    short answer: No.

First, some facts about the space shuttle:

The Shuttle Transit System consists of three parts: the boosters, the external fuel tank, and the orbiter. The system is designed to propel the orbiter in Low Earth Orbit, which is only about 150 miles up.

The orbiter has a mass of 75 metric tons (empty).

The total fuel capacity (including the external tank, which is much much larger than the orbiter itself) is 2,000 metric tons. The cargo bay has a payload of only 30 metric tons.

Lifting 75 metric tons into Low Earth Orbit requires a minimum of 2.2x10^12 Joules of energy. In reality, the shuttle expends quite a bit more energy than this, because the orbiter is not the only thing being lifted. The external fuel tank is lifted partway, as are the solid rocket boosters, and of course a fraction of the fuel itself.

Lifting 75 metric tons to Lunar Orbit requires a minimum of 4.6x10^12 Joules of energy, more than twice as much as LEO.

Getting to orbit is not the same thing as leaving orbit.

By the way, lifting 75 metric tons completely away from Earth and off into outer space (escape velocity) takes only a tiny fraction more energy than getting to the moon. This is because the moon is so far away that by the time you get there you have already left 99.9% of the Earth's gravity. In constrast, Earth's gravity in Low Earth Orbit is still 91% as strong as it is on the surface of the Earth.

    Getting back to the question:

I am quite sure that filling the cargo bay with 30 tons of fuel would make no difference at all. That's only an increase of 1.5% in fuel capacity.

Adding 6 more Solid Rocket Boosters is another story. This would be a significant addition to the fuel capacity. However, I still doubt it would be enough, because now you have to expend even MORE energy lifting the extra SRB's off the ground before you burn them and discard them.

Even if the extra fuel was enough to leave orbit and get to the moon, there wouldn't be enough fuel left for a landing and takeoff on the moon, and the orbiter's wings would be useless since the moon has no air.

On the other hand, assuming the extra fuel was enough to make it TO the moon, it might just barely be possible for the orbiter to make it around the moon and slingshot right back to Earth without stopping, then use its wings to land on Earth.
If you ever see a shuttle launch, that big thing on the shuttle's belly is basically the fuel tank for the shuttle. If the Shuttle needs that big tank just to reach low Earth orbit, there is noway that converting 80% of the cargo bay will add much boosting power. Adding booster rockets is not a viable options because it also adds weight. There is no way that the shuttle, in its current configuration, can ever been used as more than a transport between Earth and low Earth Orbit.

P.S., going to the Moon does not require escape velocity. The Moon is orbiting the Earth and therefore still within the Earth's gravity field. Going to Mars requires escape velocity because the spacecraft needs to leave the Earth's gravity field.
you wouldn't really need more fuel

Could I fly my pet cargo for one flight and then take her in the cabin for the next?

I have to fly with my Chihuahua dog from Canada to Germany and I booked a flight with two different airlines. The first one doesn't allow my pet with me on the cabin, while the other one allows me to take her with me. Could I have her on cargo for the first flight and then take her with me for the next flight? I hear they could not allow this...Could I fly my pet cargo for one flight and then take her in the cabin for the next?
if it's 2 different airlines - you should be able to claim your dog at cargo - which, understand, may be a totally different building than the building your flight arrives and departs from . That me be why they said it can't be done - it really all depends on the airport you are connecting in and if you have enough time to do the pickup and recheck the dog. Also, if you are planning on taking the dog in the cabin - most airlines only allow 2 dogs on board, and you have to have a reservation. Check with the airline on this.

    Hope this helps.

My Quest gets about 20 mpg on the highway, what will it get if I tow a 6X12 enclosed cargo trailer?

It will have a very light load. We are trying to decide if it would save a lot of money to tow it and sleep in it on a 10 day road trip instead of cheap hotels. We would still have to pay for shower facilities along the way.My Quest gets about 20 mpg on the highway, what will it get if I tow a 6X12 enclosed cargo trailer?
That really depends on weight of trailer , type of highway traveling , flat ground , hills . Also weather conditions and whether the wind is at the back pushing or are you going to be fighting a head wind or crosswind .

There are a lot of factors to determine the mph for any car or truck .My Quest gets about 20 mpg on the highway, what will it get if I tow a 6X12 enclosed cargo trailer?
You will get around 12mpg. I would sleep in it. There are no cheap hotels anymore.

Try contacting your state's Dept of Insurance. In California, for example, the Dept of Insurance website offers links to various types and providers of insurance. Commercial/business insurance offers A LOT of different types of coverage for specific things including transport of goods and business property. The easiest thing might be to find a commercial lines broker and have them hunt for all the different types of insurance you will need.

-HtJHow big is the cargo area of a plane? The part they put the luggage?
Thank you for blessing us with your lack of intelligence!! Report Abuse

Coffins are carried on aircraft quite frequently. Larger aircraft such as a 747, 777,767,757 will carry in-excess of 200,000 pounds of cargo, in addition, to the bags of the passengers. In fact, airlines tend to make more money carrying cargo rather than passengers. Especially from Japan to USA and vice-versa.

If I were to give you a number I would say the typical passenger configured 747 has approximately 2500-3000 sq. ft. of cargo space and usually the aircraft will have 2-3 cargo bays.

The typical 767/757 would have 2 cargo bays with about 1700-2500 sq. ft. of space.

The 737 would have 2 cargo bays with approximately 1200-1900 sq. ft. of space.
We ship caskets on planes every single day. The cargo area is more than large enough to accomodate. I had 3 bodes shipped from Florida on the same plane once.
It would probably depend on the plane, but assuming it's a commercial jet liner, like a 757/767 there is enough room for the baggage handlers to walk around in the hold. A coffin isn't much larger than a person laying down, which is about the same as 4 to 5 medium size suite cases. How many suite cases can you put on a twin bed? So logic would say that there is more than enough room for several coffins in the hold of commercial jet.
Who ever told you that is right. Mostly they only let you take one or two big bags onboard with you because the place were you put your belongings is so small. They usually take your luggage and put it somewhere else on the plane then afterwards they will return your luggage back to you after the flight. It does depend on the plane some planes can hold alot overhead some can't if you have a privet jet/plane then that would not be a problem depending on the size. I do hope this helps you

How to escape a police helicopter chase with some cargo?

Hi. I just want to know what is the best way to escape a police helicopter aswell as pursuit cars with some cargo. I was told the best way to escape a chopper is a hayabusa, but it does not space for cargo.

uhm...go into woods....n make its day cuz they might us the inferelight camera in the dark...LOLHow to escape a police helicopter chase with some cargo?
I always thought about that one. Depends how big the cargo is, can it be carried. Is it worth ditching, ready to pick up at later date by someone else? I always believe, it is possible to escape the police. (of course they will say otherwise don't be fooled by their intimdation.) Multi-storey carparks, shopping centers busy city streets etc. Best to get on foot before full resources are onto you. Speed is the name of the game. (Back up is their strength counter it with speed of operation.) Get underground. Act calm %26amp; generate chaos %26amp; bring in innocent party for wrong trail. (look at Diana.) Into clothes store, grap clothes, sunglasses (hide the eyes.) Get changed walk straight out slipping secuirty guard 拢50 (diversion) or show your gun to stop any stupidty %26amp; walk out. Look for a big party of people as cover, underground station, back st etc. Fire one shot into the air after noting get away path (if onto you hard), in the chaos slip the gun into someone's pocket bag, be halve way across the UK before found, then dart into the underground or back street. You then have 24hrs to escape fully (%26amp; c.1hr for close area) before the police consult the C.C.T.V. %26amp; have resources. However you would already be outside the first 4mile iron curtain they set up. (arrogant fools.) The skill is to get out before reinforcement, act calm, do as necessary, mould in %26amp; speed of operation. Good luck the fuzz need a kick in the b...s for their arrogance %26amp; bully behaviour against law abiding citizens.
Well, sense most people don't practice highspeed pursuit driving, I would say you are a fool. You can drive fast, you can turn quick, but no one can out run radio waves.

Police drive in pursuit situations and practice them all the time. It's our ability to drive and provide other units descriptions over the radio that allows us to catch people.

Remember, if you crash, cause someone to crash or hurt someone, you will be charged with that crime too.
8mm assualt rifle kill the pilot
GIMMIE YOU NAME AND ADDRESS AND I WILL COME AND SHOW YOU MINE ........
    use underground or multistory carparks
the only way to escape a police helicopter is to be on the open highway in a car that will do about 200 mph. but since you can't travel faster than radio waves you might as well pullover because if you do leave the helicopter in your rear view mirror there will surely be some officers waiting ahead with stop sticks.

don't run from the cops, it only makes things worst for yourself and puts them in jeopardy greater than they already are.
Plan your crime better so the helicopter isn't an issue. but if it is, (and I'm guessing the logistics of your cargo) have 5 or more vehicles in a tunnel, do a swift swap into one of them, using the rest as decoys, and drive round until you lose said chopper. get all cars to repeat this with more cars and you're home dry. Do i have to plan everything?! ;-)
    a motorcycle is the best
if you are not hauling alot, the sunbeam tiger is a agile and fast car to get away in. find places that have overgrowth that can obscure the vision of the helly.
What a great question!!! :) are u nuts? if so look into a Abrams tank i hear they are on sale on ebay. :) plus im sure you could put some cargo in there just take out the shells and guns and ur set. Forget it babe you will never do it.
Sounds like you will be going down the wrong road whichever vehicle you get.
have a waiting car in a tunnel. Switch in the tunnel, quickly.
What an absurd question? I am always surprised when people ask advice - from perfect strangers, no less - on how to commit crimes. If you are seriously asking for advice on such a matter, you need to rethink committing this crime since you do not seem to be intelligent enough to ';pull it off';. If you are asking for advice in order to ';plot a story'; you are writing, you again need to rethink your career.

I need to write a paper on how cargo shipping will be different in the year 2100. Can someone help?

I seriosly need help!I need to write a paper on how cargo shipping will be different in the year 2100. Can someone help?
Well, if cargo shipping is still done by loading stuff onto a transport and loading it off at the other end, I think you could make a case that:

    1. Security will be a big deal. Unlike today, by 2100 people should have figured out how to apply security to the cargo shipping industry. Today that would be impossible because of the vast amounts of cargo moving around the globe. Technology might allow security to be effective, using xrays or some kind of sensors to confirm what is in the boxes.

    2. It will be easy to move cargo far distances. This is a continuation of what's happened so far with shipping. The ability to easily ship something across the planet will keep developing.

    3. Cargo will move quickly. With bigger and faster ships/jets everything will be shipped faster. Overnight delivery to anywhere on Earth will be commonplace.

    4. Amazing cargo tracking capabilities. Where's your box? In the future you will be able to see it on a real-time map as it moves down the street.

    5. Reduction in errors. Just as bar codes and portable signature-capture devices have aided current shipping efforts, new technology should make mistakes nearly vanish. Maybe you just ';sign'; for the package by scanning your retina or something high-tech.

    6. Damage would be eliminated through the use of very strong and lightweight packing material (cardboard would be a thing of the past). Maybe some very thin aluminum alloy or something.

    7. Delivery options. In the future, satellite systems track where you are, so the cargo would be delivered to you no matter where you might be (as an option).

Is the cargo space of an airplane warm or cold?

I mean the place where all the check-in baggage goes....Is the cargo space of an airplane warm or cold?
Most of it is cold as it cost a lot to heat it to the same temperature as the cabin. However, the special section where dogs and cats travel in cages is kept pressurized, the same as the cabin. Is the cargo space of an airplane warm or cold?
depends on the aircraft. a 737 has a heated front cargo pit and the rear gets very cold. If your thinking about shipping a pet they make sure it goes in the heated one
Generally tis freezin in there but Emirates airlines has introduced temperature controlled zones so that they can transport animals and delicate cargo like a shipment of flowers.

But in ur case the checked baggage is stored in a different area which is nt temp controlled.
It depends on the aircraft. Most airliners are completely pressurized. Its actually cheaper and easier to do it this way than to leave them unpressurized. This is because a circular shape hold pressurization (like a balloon) much more easily than any other shape. It is easier then to make the pressure vessel the shape of the inside of the entire aircraft. The pressurized part of the aircraft goes from the cockpit all the way to the back of the plane and from the top to the bottom.

However not *all* aircraft have pressurized cargo compartments. The jet I fly is a modern, state of the art RJ (Do-328-300) and it does not have a pressurized cargo compartment. It doesnt really mean all that much, except your luggage might be cool to the touch when you get it. Also we do not accepts pets on our flights as they would turn into dog-shaped icicles at about 20,000 feet.
its the same as outside temperature till you get in the air then it drops down even more and gets down right cold
cold because of the air pressure
Depends on the aircraft type, the application it is used for and of course how high the aircraft is flying.

A non pressurised aircraft such as an air taxi will not fly above 10,000 feet, so if it is 25*C on the ground, the cargo compartment will be around 5*C.

An airliner depending on its specification usually has a switch in the cockpit to switch on the cargo hold heat, usually if their are animals in transit. In any case the temp will not be allowed to drop below freezing.

Imagine the mess if someones bottled water froze in a suitcase, split the bottle and thawed again.

Besides, if the cargo compartment was allowed to drop to - 50 or so, the floor in the passenger cabin would freeze, as it is very lightweight and because of this is not usually insulated.
On most aircraft today the forward cargo is warm because the avionics equipment bay is right in front of it. Cold would mean moisture build up and the units themselves create loads of heat.
the cargo space is cold. a person could die if they were in cargo. the air is compressed in the cabin.
depends on whether the plane is on the ground or in the air, and if its on the ground, what season it is. and where you are.

if its in the air, its very cold, as the higher you go, the colder it is.
I can't believe all the BS answers in this one. OK all modern airliners have pressurized cargo holds. It is not that there is a ';special'; pressurization compartment, it is all within the same pressure vessel as the rest of the plane. Now, it is definitely colder and they add heat to sections where pets are stowed. It is only colder though because the aircraft skin is thin and the outside temp is very cold at altitude. Furthermore it is a waste of weight, therefore money to install tubing to ';air condition'; a cargo hold. That is there is no heat being added where not necessary. As far as being warm or cold, it just depends. If it is a hot day on the ramp, then the cargo hold is very hot until the airplane starts to cool off.

True story about people falling from wheel wells though. That section is not pressurized and you die fairly quickly from hypoxia and/or hypothermia.
The cargo space is heated by the same air as the rest of the cabin. The air is fed into the cabin through the overhead and side wall vents and goes to the cargo compartment through the floor vents. The air will be a little cooler in the cargo compartment since it is used for keeping people warm first. But most cargo compartments have electric blanket heaters in the walls (727-737) or an electric heater (757) and are well insulated. Also the forward cargo compartment has the very warm avionics bay in front and the air distribution manifold at the rear which would make it warmer. But some cargo compartments are unheated or have their heaters removed and are marked 'no live animals', typically the rear one.
They have more than one ';cargo are';... I will assume that you mean the main area for the baggage. It is quite cold since the air at the altitude the plane is flying in is extremely cold and it transfers the cold through the aluminum sides of the plane. The area for dogs, dead body transport, and perishables, is kept warm, however.
Stowaways on airplanes that freeze to death are in the wheel wells. It is an enclosed area for the landing gear to be stored. Most who do this are crushed by the gear due to tight quarters.

The cargo compartments are not heated to normal cabin temperature but kept above freezing. You wouldn't want to take a long trip in the cargo hold but you would not freeze to death.
A Jamaican dude fell frozen onto ';Lawson'; Blvd. by my house, he stowed away in a wheel well, when the plane made the approach to ';JFK';, frozen man made a sudden appearance... on the asphalt.....true story, can prolly look it up.
When it's up in the sky, it absorbs the outside temperature, in short, it's freezing in there
i think it's cold cuz from the airconditioner..
it is cold. they will not put a special pressurized cabin juz for stuff. its slightly warmer from the outside freezing temperature while the plane is airborne but it is still freezing cold.
    very cold!
It's so cold that when they take out the cargo sometimes they find the frozen bodies of people who stowed away without knowing the danger. Seriously.

锘縃ow long would it take a freighter or cargo ship to travel from New Orleans, Louisiana to Venice, Italy?

I am a fiction writer and my ususal research sources have failed me on this occasion. I鈥檓 just looking for a ballpark estimate from New Orleans to Venice with maybe one refueling stop if necessary.锘縃ow long would it take a freighter or cargo ship to travel from New Orleans, Louisiana to Venice, Italy?
It depends entirely on how fast the ship can travel. A ship that travels at 20 knots covers about 500 miles per day, and would make it from New Orleans to Venice in about 14 days. A ship moving at 10 knots would take twice the time. And so on.

Note that a realistic ';refueling stop'; would be the port of Algeciras, in southern Spain. That would be about 9 days out from New Orleans at 20 knots. When passenger liners traveled between the Med and NY they would stop at Algeciras before starting the trans-Atlantic ';speed run';.

Remember that it takes a ship 8 to 12 hours to travel from New Orleans to the mouth of the Mississippi. A ';pilot'; is required for that trip: http://www.crescentpilots.com/锘縃ow long would it take a freighter or cargo ship to travel from New Orleans, Louisiana to Venice, Italy?

You can convert anything to carburetion as long as you have the right fuel system components. Note, this may be a costly endeavor due to all the pieces that you will need and their compatibility with the rest of the engine. You may also fail an emissions test and experience poor driveability. What newer cargo van engines can be converted to carburetion? Any?
How you running on hydrogen ? A carb. is useless for your purpose. Hydrogen is similar to propane or natural gas. IT IS STORED AS A LIQUID AND SUPPLIED TO THE ENGINE IN A GAS FORM.
With all the computer controls on new vehicles you will be asking for a huge headache. Everything system is so tied together, the computer may detect something is wrong and will operate very poorly, if at all.
It would be almost impossible to convert any of the newer engines but more importantly, why would any sane person want to?

How to travel from England to Canada by cargo ship (cheaply)?

I'm interested in getting to Canada by ship for free (by volunteering on board) or for as cheap as possible, I don't mind how uncomfortable it is and I'm fully aware that a flight would probably be cheaper and faster. I'm having trouble finding out about how to do this so if anybody could point me in the right direction I'd really appreciate it. ThanksHow to travel from England to Canada by cargo ship (cheaply)?
It is likely that any travel on any merchant vessel under North American registry will not allow you to ';volunteer services for passage';. This is not because they are mean or stingy, it is because they are generally under a Union or Trade restriction, and are bound by set rules as to what one can and cannot do under a particular job description. ie:you are a painter, therefore you cannot be an electrician, so put down that lightbulb and wait for the 'specialist trained to perform that function' to arrive.

We have a 3 year old and just learned we are expecting triplets! Yeah, triplets...

We need a car that will accommodate 4 car seats and have significant room for bags and at least a 3 infant stroller (or 3 strollers).

We definitely don't want to get an American car because of their high maintenance, and high gas mileage.

How much time should I wait before collecting a small Arowana thats arrived in the LFS in 9 hrs by air cargo?

The fish is expected on Monday, travelling from Indonesia to India by ';live'; air cargo, and shall come to the aquarium shop with whom I have ordered the fish. It's a 6'; RTG Arowana. Should I collect it immdtly on arrival to them or give it 48-72 hrs to settle down.. my tank set up is up and running for the reception..How much time should I wait before collecting a small Arowana thats arrived in the LFS in 9 hrs by air cargo?
Since you ordered the fish, then I presumed you already paid for it or have placed a sizable sum as deposit for it.

You should collect it immediately on arrival and acclimate it to your tank. Acclimatizing it to your dealer's tank for 2 to 3 days, and then transferring it to your tank will only stress out the fish even more. How much time should I wait before collecting a small Arowana thats arrived in the LFS in 9 hrs by air cargo?
Freshwater fish are a little more resilient than saltwater. Most saltwater fish I recommend a couple of days. If your LFS is a good reputable one you should be able to put a deposit on the fish and ask them to hold it a couple of days until they can get it to eat.

    That is very reasonable.
Does the aquarium store guarantee the shippment....or have you already paid for it and you have no warranty....That is an extremely expensive fish where i am from...I would personally let the LFS make sure it is healthy if they are warrantying it. If not..or if the LFS is not very good I would pick the fish up the minute it arrives and acclimate it only once. It depends on how skilled the pet store owner is...and whether they guarantee the shippment.

    They sure are!

X-rayed by both regular x-rays and special agricultural ones too (that pick out plant matter) so both weapons and illegal goods can be stopped.

Also, customs at the other end do the same thing and as mentioned, it's not uncommon for the odd bag to be opened and hand-searched.Do they screen or search luggage that is not carried on but stowed in cargo?
Yes they do, especially following the bombing of a 747 that then fell on a scottish town
They are Xrayed and screened for explosives. Every now and thn they are hand searched too.
They do search luggage. If they search by hand, they leave a card saying that the luggage was searched. It may also be done by x-ray.

how does alaskan cargo industry works? Why are there so many airline (not just fedex and ups) cargo planes in alaska? where do all those cargo go?
Alaska is a favorite mid-point hub between North America and Asia. Most cargo aircraft in service don't have the 'legs' to go say...New York to Bangkok or Taipai etc...so Alaska is a convenient 1/2 way point where crews switch out and line maintenance is performed...

You'll see a lot Cathy Pacific aircraft there doing just that...as well as heaps others...Why are there so many airline (not just fedex and ups) cargo planes in alaska? where do all those cargo go?
It's a layover for U.S./Europe. It works by boat and air and alot of people paid very well to live in a very cold place with nothing to do with their money.
In Alaska there are not any roads, there is actually just one main highway, so planes are used to move people much more effectively. It would not be feasible to keep roads open in such a huge place with such hostile wilderness and massive mountains, so it is much much more efficient to use planes for transportation.
As far as the big aircraft go, Alaska is a hub for many cargo carriers operating between Asia and North America. It may be less expensive to fly in there instead of Vancouver, Seattle, Los Angeles or San Francisco.

For smaller aircraft, like it is mentioned above, Alaska doesn't have an extensive road infrastructure and successively smaller aircraft are used to fly supplies to remote areas.

But, I don't know how well that will work for your green stripes, and I wouldn't suggest it for the brown pants.
Try putting the shirt into the wash with some bleach. I think that will work. The cargos are another matter. Some Shout might work, a little bleach might work in the wash, but they may be done for.
Tide with bleach. Its color safe. Other than that, I dont know because dye stains.

How do trucks pick up their cargo and where?

would you say that trains are more important than trucks ?

    why so?

    please explain.

Thanks for your answers! How do trucks pick up their cargo and where?
In the UK, and as a Class 1 HGV driver, I can categorically state that Trucks are 1000 times more important than trains. The only thing trains are good for is in moving large numbers of passengers, who would otherwise clog up the roads. As for freight movement, trains are restricted by the amount of available capacity on the rail network - not a great amount in our overcrowded island. Trailers are usually loaded / unloaded by ';fork lift truck';., at either the suppliers or local distribution depots. With a 44 tonne / 26 pallet truck a full load can be picked up at 0600, and delivered the same day if required by the same driver, or ';trunked'; to its destination by another one. If the same load was collected by train, it would be delivered by truck usually in a container. It would then have to wait in a marshalling yard until sufficient cargo is collected, then transported to somewhere near its destination until it is collected by another truck. The idea that Electric trains are ';greener'; than Diesel powered trucks or trains is a load of rubbish. What are the majority of power stations powerd by? Fossil fuel - oil , gas %26amp; coalHow do trucks pick up their cargo and where?
Looks like you have asked 2 questions here, so lets start with the first :

Trucks collect their cargo from initially the place of manufacture/production or a re distribution centre. They can be loaded in various ways depending upon what is to be loaded. These can include, fork lift truck (FLT), conveyor belt, used in the loading of potatoes, cages, used by supermarket RDC's to deliver goods to stores.

Secondly you ask if trains are more important than trucks. Well each form of transport has its advantages and disadvantages.

Trains - advantages : Able to move a large amount of cargo in one go, such as hundreds of tonnes of coal, thereby reducing the amount of trucks on the road.

Disadvantages - you still to be able to transport the goods to and from the rail head to be able to transport by train.

Trucks advantages - able to driver right upto the place of manufacture and deliver direct to the shop/place of delivery.

Disadvantages - More cargo that need to be moved means more trucks on the road, which helps to lead to congestion(although there are more cars on the road with only one person in than trucks delivering).

Interesting thought though, why do trains that need repairing and/or reconditioning seem to move by road? And how do the parts that are required get tranported to the factory?
No trains are not more important ,economical yes. Its a time thing,it takes alot longer to get goods by rail to their destination. Trucks can take a more direct rout quicker. I work in the trucking industry and see all the time what happens when goods are sent by rail, they ( rail cars) often get lost in switch yards. and another way of looking at it is that train tracks do not go just anywhere as trucks can go must anyplace where there is a paved road and sometimes where there are not paved roads. Also more often then not the cargo that are transported by rail are then unloaded onto trucks to get to their destination. the company i work for hauls grain from a local cereal meal (cargil) to places from any where in the united states and canada. because it takes weeks and sometimes months to get from this mill to the destination where a truck can get it there in a couple of days or less. hope this makes sense,
I wont answer your first question as it has been answered sufficiently

Road transport is extremely useful for door to door and relatively small loads, reaching the destination without any deviation,

Rail transport normally means the train arrives in a yard, and the goods are distributed by trucks accordingly. However, it is faster and can carry a lot more than trucks, avoiding congestion. The other downside is they run to set timetables.

But this isn't a problem for the major uses of Railfreight (Coal and Intermodal/Food) As most coal now is loaded at a dock (from a ship) and taken to a power station direct, Intermodal is another, it involves a container shuip dockign at a port, and the train taking the containers to another terminal, distrobution from lorries is required at the end. A train can carry far more, and emissions are far reduced than all the goods on the train where carried by trucks, and as the government is in favour of rail freight, it is cheaper. Thanks
trucks pick up their cargo where it is made, everywhere it is cheap- i.e. not here (the UK). Then they bring it to countries like ours to sell it - and quite literally THEY do bring it over here now that all the barriers are down.

There is a million times more scope for smuggling and a tril;lion times the scope for defrauding the inland revenue or customs and excise.

Just on the fuel that runs these trucks around our country and then on all the other hauls within our country- to send a truckthats ready for the knackers yard over with 2 x 1000 litre tanks on and then scrap it over here can be quite profittable just on the diesel.

But NO I don't think trucks from abroad are the most economical way or the greenest way.

I personally think it is unsafe for any vehicle to be on our roads that is not purposely built for them- i.e. the steering wheel on the right.

I also believe trains should bring cargo into this country and everything should be xrayed so that there was NO DOUBT about the cargo's. I do think trains instead of foriegn lorries would help saftey issues and take a lot of the congestion away from our streets, and a lot of the scope for abusing our country would be closed off.

It would have to be a national train that made the journey in and out of countries so that our government had full control and all the resources.
    not sure

These parts they save to sell will be priced from 20 to 70 percent of new cost depending on the parts condition. Be prepared to give them a full description of your car even the color of your upholstery so they can look for the correct color. If you do not care what the color is let them know that up front. If you want a brand new part and want the color to Match perfectly then call your nearest dealership.

Hey, I have a pair of roxy mahagony brown cargo pants but I'm not sure what to wear with them. What colours look nice with brown and Will wearing certain colours make me look funny?

ThanksWhat looks good with brown cargo shorts?
pink will probably look the best

dont wear yellow, black, blue or orange. What looks good with brown cargo shorts?
hey!! try short , skin tight yellow t-shirt , wit 1/4 sleeves ...

Or you can also wear same withe t-shirt .. sure it'll look good
i think pink or blue looks cute with brown. The only time when a color may make you look funny is if it brings out a weird color in your skin (like pale green may make sure skin look yellow and sallow). Each person has certain colors that look best on them
    Pink, Red, Orange/Apricot, Light Blue
A nice green shirt would look good with it.
Brown on brown always good cream an brown, and I love Yellow buttery yellow with brown if you are blonde or brown or red otherwise bright yellow if your hair is black or your skin darker more olive tone

What is the world bigges cargo plane?

The world's largest heavy lift cargo aircraft is the Russian AN-224 ';Mriya';:

    ';The An-225 is quoted as having a maximum takeoff weight of over 1.3 million pounds (600,000 kg). The FAI gives credit for a slightly lower weight of 1.12 million pounds (508,200 kg), the record set by an An-225 in 1989 for the largest mass ever lifted by an airplane to an altitude of 6,500 ft (2,000 m). The An-225 was originally built to ferry the Soviet Buran space shuttle but it is now used to transport various outsize cargos. Only one example was ever completed, and it is currently available for charter flights through the British company Air Foyle. The An-225 is a cargo transport only and has never been used as an airliner.';

The next largest is the AN-124, which very narrowly beats out the similar C-5 Galaxy. What is the world bigges cargo plane?

Choppers: Have you ever seen one that could comfortably cruise two and cargo?

I love tall apehanger handle bars, but I want a bike that has two seats, a powerful engine, and saddlebags. I've had a Harley Fatboy and Honda Shadow which were both pretty decent mid-sized cruisers, but I really like the choppers.Choppers: Have you ever seen one that could comfortably cruise two and cargo?
Pick up a magazine called ';Baggers'; you may find the kind of bike your looking for through one of their pages ,Big Bear Choppers has a design you may like www.bigbearchoppers.comChoppers: Have you ever seen one that could comfortably cruise two and cargo?
Hell no. Most choppers don't seat ONE person comfortably.
My neighbors at Orange County Choppers have nice cruiser choppers. Send me an invite and I will show you pics of me at their shop, even with Paul Jr.
Thunder Mountain Custom Cycles. Frontier model.

Saddlebags, chopped fairing, Screamin' Eagle 103B motor, detachable passenger seat. Pretty sharp looking ride. They look even better in person than in the picture.
    chop=bare
You have pretty much of an oxymoron here. A ';chopper'; is a bike that is stripped down to the bare esentials, giving away all comforts for speed and power. That means a solo seat ( maybe with a P pad on the back fender) , no saddlebags and getting rid of just about everything not essential to the running of the engine. I agree with your taste with apes and a streamlined look, which I have adopted somewhat on my '82 FXWG. Cant go too high on the bars,,,,state law is highly specific here in Ohio, but I have a king/queen seat with saddlebags, so I definetely wouldnt call my bike a chopper,,,,,I call it customized to my style and taste. And yes, I carry two plus cargo. Look at the picture with my name and that is my bike. I hope this helps you.
I ride a chop and if I cant tie it to the sissy bar or wear it I don't need it, got a tool bag on the forks and a willie and max bag on the bar.
yes the old school ones you see in pictures and drawings. it seems that today's interpretation of the chopper does not include a passenger seat. it would just kill the point of a true chopper....
In my old riding days with some clubs- yes. the sissy bars were the tie down points for tents and sleeping bags, large passenger seats common as small pillions, tank bags and leather throw over bags on back fenders, sleeping bags also strapped to extended front forks.

  • How do you open the cargo doors of a plane in FS2002/4?

And what is a good website from where you can dowload good quality planes for free? How do you open the cargo doors of a plane in FS2002/4?
Use the door button you specified in your key assignments:

I used D for my doors. So if I use D + 1 it opens the one door +3)(then D+2, D=... I think Ctrl+D will open all. But not all doors open in the FS default aircraft.

check out http://www.avsim.com... lots of freeware/downloadable aircraft...
